Job summary

Sage Prep is looking for an After School Teacher to lead a creative, well-structured program for elementary scholars in grades K through 5. You will help with homework, reinforce reading, writing and math skills, and use interactive methods to keep students engaged.

You will also support social-emotional growth, ensure safety and supervision, and communicate with families and school leadership to create a positive, safe learning environment.

We are looking for an After School Teacher who will make every afternoon count.

What You'll Do

Program Planning and Instruction

• Plan and lead a creative, well-structured program designed for elementary scholars in grades K through 5
• Support scholars in completing homework and assignments, reinforcing strong reading, writing, and math skills
• Use a variety of teaching methods, including storytelling, educational games, hands-on projects, and media, to keep scholars engaged

Social and Emotional Growth

• Observe each scholar and help them build social skills, confidence, and self-esteem
• Encourage positive peer interaction and guide scholars through conflicts respectfully

Safety and Supervision

• Provide active supervision at all times, including during transitions, outdoor play, and dismissal
• Maintain a clean, organized learning environment that meets health and safety standards

Family and Team Communication

• Greet families warmly and share positive daily updates at pickup
• Share observations and concerns about scholars with the Director or Assistant Director, who lead progress conversations with families
• Collaborate with fellow educators and school leadership to create a safe, fun learning environment

What You Bring

Required

• A genuine love for children
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, after school, camp, or childcare setting
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to mediate conflicts calmly and fairly
• Familiarity with classroom safety and sanitation guidelines
• Dependability and punctuality
• Current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting

Preferred

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Georgia teaching certificate, or coursework in education or a related field
• Experience supporting K-5 literacy and math skills
