Afterschool Care Staff members serve as positive role models who promote personal growth, responsibility, and respectful interactions among students.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and actively engage students in grades Pre-K through 8th during after-school hours (2:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.).

Provide attentive oversight to ensure the safety, well-being, and accountability of all students at all times.

Lead and assist with a variety of age-appropriate activities, including structured games, arts and crafts, homework support, enrichment opportunities, and outdoor play.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment that aligns with the school’s mission and values.

Monitor student behavior and implement school expectations using proactive and positive behavior management strategies.

Maintain accurate daily attendance records and follow established dismissal procedures.

Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student needs and daily activities.

Collaborate with fellow staff members to ensure smooth program operations.

Assist with the daily set-up, organization, and clean-up of the after-school care space and materials.

Follow all school safety policies and procedures, including emergency response protocols.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with children in a school, camp, childcare, or recreational setting strongly preferred.
