Job summary

A local educational institution is seeking an Educational Technician I, II, III or Administrative Assistant for part-time student transportation support. Role includes monitoring students, ensuring safety at bus stops, and assisting office staff as needed. Candidates must be eligible for Maine Department of Education certification and demonstrate effective communication with students and families. Qualifications

  • Eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education certification as Educational Technician I.
  • Course work in education or a related field is preferred.
  • Safety Care trained or willingness to complete Safety Care training upon hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to work calmly and effectively with students.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to work on short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide calm, supportive supervision for students.
  • Ensure student safety while awaiting parent/guardian pickup.
  • Implement de‑escalation techniques for distressed students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student arrivals and pickup times.
