SmartStart Education, LLC is hiring a small group STEM tutor to work with K-12 students in Dayton shelters. The role runs Monday through Thursday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, guiding groups of 3–5 learners who struggle with core STEM skills.
We value a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of teaching or tutoring experience, plus comfort working in shelter environments. Attendance tracking and progress monitoring will be done via a mobile device, ensuring timely updates.

SmartStart Education seeks a small group STEM tutor to work with small groups of K-12th grade school students on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Each small group consists of 3-5 students. Each group consists of students who have been identified as those who are struggling with fundamental STEM skills. Students are from all grade levels, including kindergarten through 12th grade.
The tutor will work with each group several times throughout the week at a local shelter in Dayton, 45402, 45405, and/or 45417. Tutors should be flexible and comfortable within shelter settings. Each tutor will be given the responsibility of taking daily attendance and monitoring student progress using a personal device (mobile phone).
The tutoring position begins promptly on September 15, 2026 and ends on May 21, 2027. The schedule will be 4:00 pm through 6:00 pm. Applicants are encouraged to schedule interviews as soon as possible to allow ample time to complete onboarding steps. Failure to do so may result in a position being unavailable.
Salary Range: $30.60/hr - $34.00/hr
