Job summary

Mad Science of DC is looking for energetic instructors to lead fun, hands-on elementary science workshops in the Bethesda, MD area after school hours. You will bring curiosity to groups of 10–20 kids, guiding simple experiments with safety and enthusiasm.

We provide 100% of the equipment, structured lesson plans, and fully paid training so you can focus on delivering engaging science experiences and building classroom leadership. Flexible schedule highlights.

Qualifications

• Afternoon availability during school dismissal is required (2:30 PM – 5:30 PM) on at least 2 consistent weekdays.
• Youth experience in teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, coaching, or childcare.
• Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license to transport lab kits.
• Background check costs covered; existing MCPS/DCPS clearance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead interactive, 60-minute science sessions for groups of 10–20 curious kids.
• Manage a safe, structured classroom using provided guidelines.
• Transport weekly lab kits to assigned schools and run quick setup/pack-up routines.
