Job summary

River City Science Academy Innovation seeks an Extended Day Staff member to supervise and engage students in before and after-school programs, ensuring safety and well-being while creating a positive, inclusive environment. Typical schedule is 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on school days.

Responsibilities include supervising up to 30 students, assisting with homework, leading STEAM and recreation activities, and coordinating with the Extended Day Coordinator and school staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 12 months of verifiable experience supervising school-aged children.
• Must pass Level II background screening and reference checks.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure safety and proper conduct of students at all times.
• Provide developmentally appropriate activities including homework help and enrichment (STEAM, arts, recreation).
• Maintain a positive, structured environment that promotes respect and cooperative behavior.
• Follow school policies, safety procedures, and incident reporting; manage student dismissal procedures.
• Document accidents, injuries, or unusual behavior and notify parents and administration as required.
• Assist with homework or academic tasks and support program schedules with coordination from Extended Day Coordinator.
