YMC in Oklahoma City is seeking a part-time junior program staff member to supervise a child care program, plan activities, and ensure safe, engaging experiences for 10–15 children each day.

Responsibilities include leading games, daily attendance, snack distribution, and reporting injuries. Candidates must hold CPR/First Aid, be 18+ (16–17 yrs for Jr. staff), and complete required trainings promptly.

Qualifications

  • Must stay current in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually.
  • Must have an interest in and like children and exemplify and support the YMCA philosophy.
  • Must complete all required Redwoods trainings within 30 days of hire and renew annually.
  • Must be 18 years of age, have high school diploma or GED.
  • Jr. Program staff may be 16-17 yrs of age.
  • Job consists of working with school age children and requires participation in activities with children.
  • Position may require work outside the regularly scheduled program hours.
  • Must attend all scheduled YMCA trainings, have current CPR certification and uphold the YMCA employee appearance guidelines.

  • Perform daily count of meals and snacks served.
  • Report all injuries and incidences to the site coordinator.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meeting to help plan activities, and attend CATCH trainings.
  • Develop positive relationships with school principal and staff.
  • Display YMCA character values (Honesty, caring, respect, and responsibilities at all times.)
  • Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers.
