Job summary

TRF Children & Family Services is hiring a School-Age Teacher to create a safe, engaging environment for children 5–12 after school. You will lead activities, support homework, and foster independence while building relationships with families and staff.

The role emphasizes classroom management, enrichment planning, and collaborative teamwork to support each child’s growth and success.

Qualifications

• AA/AS in Early Childhood Education with 24 ECE units and a CCTC Teacher Permit.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with school-age children (5–12).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of curriculum design, teaching methods, and learning assessment.
• Understanding of child behavior, motivation, and development.
• Ability to select appropriate teaching methods and adapt to learners.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and work well with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for 5–12 year olds.
• Support homework, literacy, STEM, and enrichment activities.
• Maintain a welcoming and organized classroom environment.
• Promote independence, leadership, problem-solving, and social skills.
• Monitor safety, attendance, and licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and site leadership.
