Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center is seeking an After School Counselor in Washington, DC to supervise children in the after-school program from Pre-K through Grade 5. Responsibilities include following dismissal procedures, ensuring safety, creating activities, and assisting with swim, art, and science programs as needed.

The role emphasizes mandated reporting, professional conduct, and collaboration with the Director of Camp & After School Programming.

Qualifications

• Supervise children from Pre-K to Grade 5 in after-school program.
• Maintain safety, health, and welfare of participants.
• Report incidents as mandated reporters and follow director guidance.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Follow pick-up and dismissal procedures.
• Ensure group supervision during activities (indoor/outdoor).
• Create age-appropriate activities and participate in all activities.
• Assist specialists in instructional activities as needed.
• Take attendance daily and monitor students moving between activities.
• Run specialty programs as assigned by the Director.
• Clean and organize rooms and return materials after use.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
