Job summary

DeKalb Health YMCA seeks a Group Leader for after-school programs in Kansas. You will lead activities, supervise routines, and model positive behavior, engaging youth and families while maintaining safety and inclusivity.

Requirements include minimum 18 years old, a high school diploma, and strong communication and teamwork skills. You will work with diverse groups, support conflict resolution, and participate in program trainings as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups in a friendly, professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Attend all mandatory staff meetings and in-service hours.
• Lead program activities and supervise routines.
• Engage youth, build relationships, and model positive behavior.
• Set and maintain limits using positive reinforcement.
• Support youth in conflict resolution with positive solutions.
• Maintain good relations with parents and building administrators.
• Create a welcoming environment and greet children and parents by name.
• Communicate issues to Site Director promptly.
• Participate in annual fundraising and campaigns as directed.
• Report any concerns per procedures and policies.
