Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is seeking an After School Program Assistant Director to support the Afterschool Program Director in creating a caring, safe environment and improving the quality of education for school-aged children.

Responsibilities include supervising children, developing activities and curriculum, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and communicating with the director, staff, parents, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school aged children (classroom teaching experience preferred).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others.
• Multilingual - English/Spanish/French strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children during program times.
• Develop and implement school age program activities and curriculum.
• Establish a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for all students.
• Communicate accidents, sicknesses, and incidents to the Program Director in a timely manner.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings and contribute to them.
