Job summary

Barnette Magnet School in Fairbanks, AK is seeking part-time after-school tutors to provide academic assistance and support for tutoring sessions. The roles involve clocking in/out via TCP, preparing materials, tracking attendance, and helping students engage in the program. Roles may include event participation and covering for other staff as needed. Training and paperwork are required prior to employment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clock in/out using TCP and approve time worked.
• Prep space and materials for tutoring sessions.
• Assist with daily attendance.
• Provide academic tutoring to students.
• Help students enter the program and pack up for dismissal.
• Adhere to program site safety, cell phone and student interaction rules.
• Complete required training and paperwork.
• Assist with daily program set-up.
• Distribute snacks and/or assist students with opening their snacks.
• Prepare materials for students.
• Participate in special events.
• Substitute for other staff in the after-school program.

Job description

Hourly rate: $18.00-$42.66

Work Week: Less than 15 hours a week

General Responsibilities

• Using TCP to clock in and out, as well as approve time worked
• Prepping spaceand materials for tutoringsessions
• Assisting with daily attendance
• Providing academic assistance to students through tutoring
• Helping students enter the program and help students pack up for dismissal
• All other duties as assigned
• Expected to adhere to all program site rules regarding safety, cell phone use, and student interaction
• Must complete any necessary training and paperwork as needed for employment

Depending on experience and availability, employees may also be responsible for:

• Assisting with daily program set-up
• Distribution of snacks and/or assisting students with opening their snacks
• Prepping materials for students
• Participation in special events
• Substituting for other staff within the after-school program
