Job summary

Minnetonka Music Academy, part of Minnetonka Public Schools, seeks caring piano instructors to guide school-age students. Instructors are hired as staff and help grow our musical community, with a focus on interaction, encouragement, and progression.

After-school lessons run for the 2026‑27 school year, Monday through Friday, from 2:20 pm to early evenings at elementary locations. Starting pay is $29.21–$32.82 per hour. This role does not include medical or dental benefits.

Qualifications

• BA or advanced degree in music education or performance.
• Evidence of successful teaching experience.
• Evidence of positive interpersonal skills with young students.
• Must be able to commit to the MMA calendar for the 2026‑27 school year.
• Interest in teaching all skill levels and ages.

Responsibilities

• Be on time and prepared for each weekly in-person private lesson.
• Follow MMA Instructor Handbook and MMA piano curriculum.
• Track student progress and write narrative comments.
• Prepare students for recitals and performances.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
