Job summary

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra / OrchKids is seeking a part-time OrchKids Program Assistant in Baltimore, MD. The role supports operational, logistical, and administrative tasks for the OrchKids program, with site-based responsibilities and strong child-management experience.

The position may include evenings and weekends and requires close collaboration with the program team. Hours are 2:00–7:00 PM, Monday–Friday, September–May and July, with some June/August dates.

Qualifications

• Strong child management skills and calm handling of emergencies.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and large student groups.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities for fast-paced settings.
• Background check clearance and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run daily programming and manage after-school activities.
• Support classroom and behavior management; assist with attendance.
• Assist with equipment setup, meal service, and field trips.
• Coordinate with site team for logistics of concerts and events.
• Maintain inventory and assist in transport for performances.
