Job summary

DREAM is hiring part-time Assistant Coaches for East Harlem and the South Bronx to support middle school athletics. You will help run practices, supervise students, and ensure safe, engaging environments.

You report to the Dean of Student Life and Head Coach, with hours Mon-Thu 3-6pm, August through November, and games in the evenings and weekends. The rate is $30/hour, plus a $3,000 season stipend for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of coaching or youth program experience preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children required.
• Understanding of the sport’s rules and fundamentals required.
• Ability to effectively support youth development and behavior management.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• CPR/First Aid certification, a plus.
• Strong alignment with DREAM’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of structured, high-quality practices and lead when the head coach is not present/available.
• Execute drills and activities with clarity, energy, and attention to detail.
• Reinforce expectations for behavior, effort, and participation.
• Support attendance tracking for all practices and games.
• Communicate promptly with Head Coach regarding concerns or updates.
• Assist with game-day logistics and team management.
