Job summary

Gang Alternative, Inc. seeks a Lead Instructor in Miami, FL for the GPS program. The part-time role runs Mon-Fri, 2pm–6pm, with longer hours in the summer, reporting to the Site Coordinator.

The instructor will deliver direct instruction, supervise children, and support program operations, including data collection, outreach, and activity planning across reading, social skills, PE, and arts.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (Creole or Spanish) and able to read/write English
• Preferred AA/degree in Education or equivalent
• Must be available for program hours
• Reliable transportation and cellphone
• Experience with children in K-8
• Clear background check (fingerprint)
• Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (DCF 45 hours) must be obtained

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to Site Coordinator and instructors
• Direct instruction of children in sessions across reading, social skills, PE, arts
• Assess students (pre-, mid-, post) in assigned areas
• Maintain a positive, enriching learning environment
• Assist with homework, attendance, and daily snack routines
• Prepare classroom materials and supervise activities
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of learning spaces
• Participate in staff trainings and program meetings
