Job summary

Hebrew Educational Society in Brooklyn, NY seeks an Activity Specialist to lead karate instruction for K–5 after school. You will teach proper techniques, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship while ensuring participant safety.

The ideal candidate will hold a martial arts certification or rank, have experience teaching children, and understand child development and classroom management. Hours are Monday–Friday from 2:20 PM to 5:30 PM, with compensation under $25,000.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching karate or martial arts to children.
• Appropriate martial arts certification, rank, or equivalent instructional experience.
• Knowledge of child development and classroom management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate karate instruction for K-5.
• Teach proper techniques, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
• Ensure participant safety during instructional activities.
• Monitor participant progress and encourage skill development.
• Collaborate with program staff to support participant engagement and positive behavior.
