Job summary

Imogen Foundation is seeking a part-time teacher to lead inventive theater classes for elementary school children after school, covering improv, devised playmaking, chorus, and musical theater. Instructors will nurture each child’s unique voice in a safe and brave space, with classes from 2:30pm to 5:00pm when NYC public schools are in session.

You will collaborate with a teaching assistant, develop lesson plans, and coordinate supplies in advance to support engaging, student-centered learning.

• Requests supplies from Site Supervisor well in advance of class sessions.
• Leads classes with school-age children.

We are seeking a part-time teacher to lead inventive theater classes for elementary school children after school, in one or more of the following disciplines: improv, devised playmaking, chorus, and musical theater. In addition to inviting students to learn about theater, instructors will strengthen and support students’ unique, creative voices in a simultaneously safe and brave space. The scheduled hours for Instructors are from 2:30pm to 5:00PM, when NYC public schools are in session.
