Job summary

Concorde Education is seeking a Guitar Instructor to lead engaging after-school guitar programs at a partner school. Sessions run 1–4 hours per week, for ~10 weeks, with rolling openings based on school schedules.

Compensation is $50+ per instructional hour, flexible by experience and commute. You will teach basic chords, strumming, rhythm, and simple songs, adapting to beginner to intermediate groups while building confidence and enjoyment in music.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college credits.
• Experience teaching guitar or providing private lessons.
• Strong understanding of basic music theory and guitar fundamentals.
• Experience working with kids or teens (schools, camps, lessons, etc.).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Reliable, professional, and comfortable in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured, engaging guitar sessions for small to mid-sized groups.
• Support students across varying skill levels (beginner to intermediate).
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain safe routines for instrument use and classroom management.
• Adapt instruction based on student ability and group dynamics.
• Communicate with site staff and track attendance/session completion.
• Prepare students for a simple performance or showcase (when applicable).
