Job summary

Kid Care Group Leader is a School Year position in Massachusetts that pays between $23.12 and $26.81 per hour for up to 18.5 hours per week. The role reports to the Program Director and involves running activities, assisting staff, and providing general care for participants in a licensed afterschool program.

Responsibilities include overseeing activities, maintaining a safe and clean facility, supporting staff, and ensuring adherence to licensing procedures for child safety.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: An associate’s degree and a minimum of three months experience working with school-age children or a high school diploma and six months experience working school-age children including three months of supervised experience at a school-age child care program.
• Valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Familiarity with programs designed for pre-school ages.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate activities for children ages 5-12.
• Ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with town employees and the general public.
• Ability to motivate and encourage participation in programs.
• Ability to plan and organize activities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Excellent planning, organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in overseeing activities.
• Responsible for the general care of participants at the program.
• Assists fellow staff.
• Maintains cleaning and upkeep of the facility and monitor safety situations at all times.
• Follows licensing procedures to safeguard health and safety of the children.
• Performs similar or related work as required, or as situation dictates.
