Job summary

DeKalb Brilliance Academy is seeking a part-time Group Leader for the Hive after-school program. You will design and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities and ensure spaces are safe, inclusive, and ready for the next day.

You will track attendance, monitor behavior, and collaborate with site leadership to support a positive scholar experience. This role requires at least two years of relevant experience and a DECAL background check.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years previous experience is strongly preferred
• Pass a DECAL background check
• Able to meet physical demands of the role (standing/walking for extended periods, lifting up to 40 lbs)

Responsibilities

• Activity planning and delivery: design and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities
• Supervision and scholar engagement: manage attendance and ensure positive behavior
• Behavior support: reinforce expectations and use restorative language
• Documentation and communication: complete reports accurately and communicate with families as directed
• Materials, space, and closeout: keep spaces ready for the next day
• Health, safety, and supervision: maintain active supervision and know safety plans
• Mandated reporting and scholar protection: serve as a mandated reporter per policy
