Job summary

The La Mesa-Spring Valley School District is seeking an ESS Program Aide to support after-school activities at an assigned school site. Responsibilities include supervising students, assisting with lessons, and maintaining a safe, clean learning environment.

Ideal candidates have childcare experience, a high school diploma (GED accepted), and the ability to work 16.25–26.25 hours per week from August through June. An ESSA-compliant background may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience: Fifty (50) hours of experience working with children.
• Education: High School education (High School Diploma preferred).
• Possess an Associate's Degree or higher (submit copy of degree with application).
• OR Completed 48 units of college work (submit transcripts with application).
• Successful completion of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Exam by the District (submit certificate).
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.

Responsibilities

• Observe and modify behavior of students enrolled in before/after school program.
• Coordinate and implement academic activities aligned with District curricula.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment for students.
• Assist ESS Site Lead in responding to inquiries and resolving issues.
• Coordinate and oversee activities to provide a safe, positive learning environment.
• Assist with planning and implementing craft activities and supervision during activities.
