Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA is seeking an Afterschool Enrichment Leader to assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs in accordance with California Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs guidelines. You will supervise up to 20 children independently, ensuring a safe environment and positive, individualized guidance.

You will carry out activities and lesson plans, uphold HEPA standards, set up/cleanup, provide outstanding customer service to families, and complete trainings

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 48 college units OR an Associate’s Degree OR complete district paraeducator exam.
• 1 year of experience in a childcare setting.
• Ability to obtain Criminal Record Clearance.
• Negative TB test required prior to first day of employment.
• Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs per California guidelines.
• Supervise up to 20 children independently under program rules.
• Provide quality care and supervision in a safe environment.
• Guide behaviors using positive approaches tailored to each child.
• Carry out activities and lesson plans and ensure HEPA standards.
• Set up and clean program area and provide exceptional customer service to families.
• Participate in in-service trainings and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment.
