Job summary

Somerset Learning Center in Raritan, NJ is seeking an English or Elementary Education teacher to join our team with a flexible after-school schedule (3:30-7:30 pm weekdays and/or Saturdays 9-12). This role is ideal for a part-time tutor or a retired teacher looking to help students in our community.

You will provide 1:1 tutoring in decoding, reading comprehension and writing for K-12, help students prepare for SAT reading/writing sections (training provided), and communicate clearly to encourage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or related fields.
• State Teaching Certification.
• 2+ Years prior teaching experience at elementary, middle or high school level.
• Conveniently located to our office.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual instruction/tutoring to students in K-12 in decoding, reading comprehension, and writing skills
• Prepare students for reading/writing sections of SAT and other standardized tests (we will train)
• Excellent ability to communicate and encourage students
