Job summary

St. Andrew's Parish Parks & Playground Commission is hiring energetic after-school counselors to help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for children ages 5 to 12. This is a great opportunity for students and anyone who enjoys working with children.

Schedule includes after-school Mon–Fri 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and day camps during school breaks; max 29 hours per week. Pay starts at $17.00–$18.50 per hour, depending on experience and ability to drive agency vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Darkness2Light - Stewards of Children certification required (In-house training available).
• Dependable, enthusiastic, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead age-appropriate games, crafts, sports, and other recreational activities.
• Supervise children ages 5–12 in a safe and positive environment.
• Assist with homework time and encourage positive behavior.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Maintain clean, organized program areas.
• Help create an engaging, welcoming environment where every child can thrive.

After School Counselor Part Time

St. Andrew's Parish Parks & Playground Commission is hiring energetic, dependable after school counselors to help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for children ages 5 to 12. This is a great opportunity for high school and college students, future teachers, recreation professionals, and anyone who enjoys working with children.

Schedule

• After School Program: Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Day Camp: 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. during school breaks (teacher workdays, Fall, Winter, and Spring Breaks)
• Hours vary based on program needs. Max of 29 hours per week.

Pay

• Starting at $17.00 - $18.50 per hour, depending on experience and ability to drive agency vehicles

What You'll Do

• Lead fun, age-appropriate games, crafts, sports, and other recreational activities
