This isn’t just "childcare"—it is an extension of our Montessori mission. You will oversee the academic, social, and emotional growth of students during our extended day, ensuring the environment remains a structured, nurturing, and engaging space.

As we move into our brand-new facility, this role has opportunities to expand. We are looking for a leader who can manage a team of assistants, build strong relationships with families, and ensure 100% compliance with DCF licensing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Develop and implement an after-school curriculum that balances quiet academic support, Montessori-aligned enrichment, and active play.

  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise after-school staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality service and maintaining proper ratios.

  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain all relevant DCF licensing and regulatory requirements. Ensure staff training and student records are audit-ready at all times.

  • Operations & Budgeting: Manage daily schedules, student attendance, and program resources effectively within the established budget.

  • Family Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for families after 3:30 PM, fostering trust and providing clear communication regarding student progress or behavior.

  • Strategic Growth: Prepare for the 2026-2027 school year by scaling program offerings to meet the needs of our expanding Pre-K-8 student body.

  • Safety: Current CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to supervise a team, manage conflicts, and solve logistical problems (scheduling, staffing, etc.) in real-time.

  • Communication: Professional verbal and written communication skills suitable for parent and administrative interactions.
