Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic instructors to join its after-school enrichment program in Burien, WA. You will teach chess to elementary students using a structured curriculum and create a fun, positive learning environment.

This fall session offers flexible hours: teach 1–5 classes per week, typically 2:00–5:00 PM, with mileage reimbursement for travel between local schools. Competitive pay per class and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational or recreational settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently with engaging sessions.
• Professional, positive demeanor and kid-friendly attitude.
• Strong chess fundamentals and ability to explain moves, strategy, and simple tactics to kids.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2–5 PM) to teach 1–5 classes weekly.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach fundamentals and promote sportsmanship using our curriculum.
• Maintain a lively, positive classroom environment.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Travel to various local school sites for sessions.
• Arrive prepared and on time for each class.
