New York Edge seeks a passionate Chess Specialist for after-school programs across NYC, working part-time from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday with site variations. Qualifications

• Two years of chess-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
• Teaching experience is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Build a classroom culture where scholars develop a love for chess and enhance critical thinking.
• Plan lessons, projects, and units for use in the after-school program and ensure successful execution.
• Teach a rigorous chess curriculum from basics to advanced tactics and checkmates.
• Coach and develop a team to compete in city, state, and national tournaments.
• Coordinate family chess nights and internal tournaments; collaborate for feedback and professional development.
