Job summary

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Public Schools is seeking a Program Aide to support School-Age Care (SAC) and Wrap Around (WA) programs for K-6 students and preschoolers. Under the SAC/WA Coordinator, this part-time role runs 6:30am–5:30pm, Monday–Friday, with summer hours and substitute opportunities.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, assisting with self-help skills, maintaining safety and discipline, leading games and projects, and attending staff trainings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a child-related field.
• Patience and concern for proper care of children.
• Ability to work well with children and communicate effectively.
• Good human relation skills in dealing with diverse people.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children's activities, including set-up and clean-up
• Assist students with self-help skills such as dressing, hygiene and bathroom use
• Enforce discipline procedures when necessary
• Lead games and projects; participate in activities
• Be available to work on non-school and early release days as scheduled
• Inform Program Leaders of concerns and incidents
• Attend staff meetings and trainings
• Promote teamwork and a positive image of the program
• Maintain confidentiality of children and families
• Perform other duties as assigned
