Job summary

Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas, is seeking an After School Care Staff member to provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students in the school’s afternoon program. You will assist with supervision, activities, homework time, transitions, and other program needs while supporting the school’s mission and expectations.

This part-time, variable-hour role has hours mainly in the afternoon and early evening and does not guarantee a minimum weekly amount.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, flexible, and collaborative.
• Ability to effectively supervise and engage groups of students of varying ages.
• Experience working with children or students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision of students at all times.
• Maintain a safe, structured, positive, and Christ-centered environment for students.
• Assist with student check-in, dismissal, and authorized pick-up procedures.
• Lead or assist with age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, recreation, and other enrichment opportunities.
• Supervise homework and designated quiet or study periods.
• Monitor student behavior and reinforce school expectations using appropriate and consistent classroom management practices.
• Assist students during transitions between classrooms, playgrounds, athletic areas, and other campus locations.
• Communicate student concerns, behavioral issues, injuries, or other incidents promptly to program leadership.
• Interact with parents, students, faculty, and staff in a professional, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of program spaces and materials.
