Job summary

Diocese of Harrisburg's Holy Trinity Catholic School in York, PA seeks an Extended Day Care Aide to support before and after school programs. Part-time role 2-3 hours per day, negotiable.

You will supervise children, help with homework, plan snacks and play, respond to emergencies, maintain logs, ensure safety, and coordinate with staff. Training for child care, first aid, CPR provided; must be 21+, HS diploma, background checks; Catholic teachings required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain state and federal background checks and take required classes for clearances.
• School will provide training on child care, first aid, and CPR. Any prior experience is a plus.
• Must be willing to respect the Catholic Church’s teachings on morality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise activities for before/after school care, including homework, snacks and playtime.
• Respond to basic emergencies and monitor children’s welfare while in care.
• Maintain a clean, orderly space and keep daily logs updated.
• Write daily/weekly/monthly reports of children's behaviors and habits.
• Assist with setting up/breaking down the care space and coordinating staff levels.
• Coordinate with teachers to support reading, math or other subjects as needed.
