Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college coursework or a degree in education, child development, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to manage groups of children with patience, warmth, and firm, consistent boundaries.
• Genuine, personal Christian faith and willingness to model that faith for students.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Reliable availability for the full after care window on scheduled school days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in grades 1 through 6 during after school care hours, ensuring safety at all times.
• Support a structured daily routine including homework time, physical activity, and creative play.
• Build positive, encouraging relationships reflecting Christian care and character.
• Assist students with homework and academic tasks as needed.
• Lead or assist with games, crafts, and enrichment activities.
• Manage check-in and check-out procedures and maintain attendance records.
• Communicate clearly with parents/guardians about their child’s day and concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe care space and supplies.
• Enforce school behavior expectations with grace and consistency.
• Respond to minor injuries or incidents following school protocol.
• Collaborate with other staff and faculty for smooth transition from school day to after care.
• Support late pickup procedures per school policy.
