Job summary

Contoocook Valley School District seeks a Boys Basketball Coach for South Meadow School to lead the after-school program. The position offers a $3,200 stipend with no benefits, running from late November through March.

The coach will organize practices, teach fundamental skills, and promote sportsmanship and character development. The successful candidate will supervise assistant coaches, coordinate with the athletic director and principal, and ensure compliance with school policies and safety

Qualifications

• Must organize and supervise the total athletic program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in basketball.
• Head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay updated on theories.
• Must serve as a positive role model for student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of athletic policies and ensure implementation by staff.
• Coordinate and supervise assistant/middle school coaches.
• Follow proper administrative lines of command and attend required meetings.
• Establish philosophy and methods; train staff and promote professional growth.
• Delegate duties, monitor implementation, and evaluate staff.
• Assist athletic director with scheduling, transportation, and event logistics.
• Manage equipment, inventory, and budget within the program.
• Promote the sport to community and maintain good public relations.
