Westfield Public Schools is seeking a Boys Basketball Assistant (Junior Varsity) Coach to support after-school practices and games. The stipend is commensurate with the district Appendix B contract; no benefits are provided at this time.

The position requires commitment from the first tryout day through the final game, with regular practice five days a week, supervision of athletes, and adherence to all school and league rules.

Qualifications

• Emotional stability and ability to model appropriate behavior for students.
• Knowledge of theory and practice of the sport suitable for secondary students.
• Commitment to teamwork, sportsmanship and following school rules.
• Willingness to work with other coaches and school administrators.
• Background checks and required certifications prior to coaching.

Responsabilités

• Be present from the first tryout day until the last day of the season with practices/activities five days a week.
• Supervise teams during practices and competitions.
• Collect uniforms and equipment at season end.
• Maintain fair, unprejudiced relationships with athletes and monitor welfare.
• Abide by school, league and sport rules.
