Yes I Can Basketball is seeking an After-School Basketball Coach for a part-time, on-site role in Charlotte, NC. You will lead after-school practices, run skills clinics, and oversee team activities for youth of varying ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities include planning structured drills, teaching game concepts, supervising scrimmages, and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment. Availability 1:00–6:00 PM weekdays; CPR/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

Role Description

The After-School Basketball Coach is a Part-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC. The coach will lead after-school practices, skills clinics, and team activities, providing instruction in fundamental and advanced basketball techniques to youth of varying ages and skill levels. Daily responsibilities include planning and running structured drills, teaching game concepts, supervising games and scrimmages, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all participants. The coach will model positive behavior, support players’ personal growth, communicate regularly with families and program staff, and help organize schedules, equipment, and facilities. Additional duties may include assisting with camps, leagues, and special events as needed. Seeking Lead Coaches & assistant coaches.

• $18–$25/hr
• Must be available 1:00–6:00 PM weekdays
• Work with elementary students running drills, games, and supervision.
• Experience with kids or basketball is preferred.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Basketball Coaching and Coaching, with demonstrated experience leading youth teams or training sessions.
• Candidates should possess solid Basketball knowledge, including fundamentals, game strategy, and player development principles.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to give clear instructions, motivate players, and collaborate with staff and families.
• Candidates should possess Training skills, including planning practice sessions, creating skill-building drills, and monitoring player progress.
• Previous experience working with children or adolescents in sports or education settings is highly beneficial.
• Ability to maintain a positive, encouraging, and safety-focused environment on the court.
• Availability for after-school hours, evenings, and occasional weekends as required by program schedules.
• CPR/First Aid certification and background check eligibility are strongly preferred.
