Job summary

Westport Community Schools is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the Westport High School athletic program. The role reports to the Head Coach and Athletic Director, and involves supervising athletes, assisting with practices, and supporting game day operations.

Qualifications

• Teaching certificate and coaching experience preferred.
• Experience coaching basketball is desirable.
• U.S. citizenship, residency or work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise athletes and team as assigned by Head Coach and athletic director.
• Assist with scheduling, transportation to tournaments, and event logistics.
• Ensure compliance with school and league rules; communicate with parents through proper channels.
• Provide training rules and supervise student managers and staff.
• Delineate discipline procedures and intervene when necessary, contacting parents as needed.
