Job summary

Unicoi Art Studio is seeking passionate individuals to join our elementary after school art program as part-time instructors. Classes run from 2:30pm to 5:00pm, with occasional opportunities for events, birthday parties, and day camps.

Instructors pick up project supplies, learn the weekly activity, set up and clean up, and lead step-by-step instruction for each class. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required; hourly pay is tied to experience and additional class rate options are

Job description

Unicoi Art Studio is seeking after school art instructors for elementary aged after school art programming. Programs typically run between 2:30pm and 5:00pm with additional teaching opportunities for special events, birthday parties and day camps. After School Art instructors will be responsible for picking up project supplies from the studio, learning the weeks activity, set-up and clean-up of activity, as well as, facilitating instructional step-by-step class.

This is a part-time position perfect for a student or working artist looking for a small reliable income. Position will have opportunities to expand teaching opportunities as well as set-up your own workshops with profit-percentage pay outs.

After School Art Instructors should have:

• good time management
• great communication
• outstanding patience
• passion for passing on knowledge to next generation/working with kids
• Basic knowledge in acrylic and watercolor painting, collage, sculpture techniques and mono-printing.
• Great problem solving skills
• Good self management

Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required. Hourly pay is determined by previous teaching experience. Optional class rate available as well if preferred for after school class schedule.
