Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Youth Program Assistant in North Platte, NE. Work Monday–Friday 10-15 hours per week at $15.00 per hour, assisting with after-school and summer day camp activities for school-age children. Driving is an essential part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must pass all applicable background checks.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• CPR and First Aid Certification and Safe from Harm training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the program director with program preparation.
• Prepare materials and equipment for daily activities.
• Serve meals and supervise children during meals.
• Oversee specified age group and daily activities.
• Lead and participate in recreation, snacks, crafts, pool, field trips.
• Enforce facility policies (no swearing, no alcohol, no drugs, no violence).
• Follow progressive disciplinary procedures when needed.
• Document accidents using the EER process.
• End of day cleaning and organization.
• Driving is an essential role of the position.
• All other duties as assigned.
