Job summary

YMCA of Greater Dayton is seeking a Childcare Activity Leader for after-school programs in Dayton, OH. This part-time, non-exempt role supports children's social, physical, spiritual and mental development in a safe, structured environment.

Responsibilities include planning weekly lessons, collaborating with staff, and maintaining classroom safety and cleanliness in accordance with ODJFS guidelines. Driving duties may be required for some assignments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Six months experience working in early childhood field strongly preferred.
• A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and YMCA Driver Orientation required for driving responsibilities; optional based on assignments.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and implements weekly lesson plans.
• Works cooperatively with Lead Teacher, Site Administrator, other staff and partners.
• Documents attendance, absenteeism, transitions, minor disciplines and incidents for each child.
• Maintains the appearance and management of the classroom and designated program areas; keeps supplies and equipment neat and in good order.
