Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Dayton is hiring a Childcare Activity Leader - After School Teacher in Xenia, OH. This part-time, non-exempt position supports planning and delivering engaging activities before and after school, focusing on children’s social, physical, spiritual and mental development.

You will work with a team, follow safety guidelines, and communicate with families to ensure a secure, nurturing environment across multiple locations during the school year and summer program periods.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess high school diploma or GED.
• Six months experience in early childhood field strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required only if driving is part of the role; otherwise not required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and implements weekly lesson plans.
• Works cooperatively with Lead Teacher, Site Administrator and staff.
• Documents attendance, transitions and incidents for each child.
• Maintains classroom appearance, supplies and equipment in order.
• Communicates with parents and conducts parent/teacher conferences.
• Ensures safety and compliance with OD JFS guidelines and CACFP records.
• Maintains appropriate adult/child ratio and assists in other classrooms as needed.
• Attends staff meetings, trainings and family events.
