Job summary

TURN in Escondido, CA is seeking a Regular Part Time Mental Health Professional to assist clients with access to medical, educational, social, vocational, housing resources, and more. The role involves coordinating referrals and ensuring whole-person care.

The position requires a Master’s degree and CA BBS license, a valid driver’s license, and experience in mental health or substance use services. Proficiency in MS Office and EHRs is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree and CA BBS registration or license (MFT, LCSW, LPCC) required.
  • Valid CA driver's license and current auto insurance per contract requirements required.
  • Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder services preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessments, therapy, and crisis intervention for clients.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation and meet minimum billable requirements.
  • Coordinate referrals and arrange transportation as needed.
  • Shift coverage and field-based services as required by program and client need.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client's care and participate in program meetings.
  • Respond to after-hours calls for ACT clients and collateral contacts, providing telephonic triage when needed.

JOB SUMMARY

Recommend and assist with access to medical, educational, social, vocational, housing, and more to support program goals. Initiate referrals to the next level of care, and coordinate with physical health providers to ensure whole-person care, and advocate in the best interest of clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide assessments, mental health evaluations, family-individual-group therapy, plan development, case consultation, crisis intervention, discharge placement, and assist clients in meeting basic needs and symptom management.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, meet minimum billable requirements for direct client services.
  • Facilitate placement including pre-placement visits, and transportation as needed.
  • Shift coverage including part of the on-call team.
  • Provide field-based services as required by program and client need.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client's care.
  • Participate in scheduled program meetings.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
  • Respond to after-hours calls for ACT clients and collateral contacts, providing telephonic triage and initiating in-person crisis response when clinically indicated.
  • Conduct crisis-focused assessments, including mental status and risk evaluation, and implement stabilization interventions such as de-escalation and safety planning.
  • Determine and coordinate appropriate levels of care during crisis situations, including collaboration with emergency services, hospitals, and other community partners as needed.

  • Valid CA driver's license and current auto insurance per contract requirements required.
  • Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder services preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred.
