The AfPP is seeking a SIG Lead for Non-Registered Perioperative Practitioners. This pivotal role involves leading SIG activities, facilitating networking, and advocating for high standards of perioperative practice. The ideal candidate will be a current member of AfPP with strong communication and leadership skills, and a passion for enhancing professional standards.
Reports To: Clinical Patient Safety Quality Lead
Key Relationships: AfPP HQ (Education Lead, Clinical Patient Safety Lead, Production Editor for Innovation, People and Practice (IPP) magazine, Events Team, Marketing Team), Local Regional Team.
Role Summary: The Specialist Interest Group (SIG) lead plays a pivotal role in supporting the Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) by leading and coordinating the activities of the SIG and online Forum.
Fostering professional engagement, facilitating networking opportunities, supporting members and promoting high standards of perioperative practice.
The role will include leading the online forum, sharing specialised knowledge and exchanging ideas as topic moderators (posting new topics weekly), and managing topic threads by encouraging member activity.
Term of Appointment: Initial term of up to three years, ensuring continuity and succession planning for the SIG.

Current Member of AfPP Understanding of AfPP’s mission and values
An established network within the perioperative community and SIG speciality. Familiarity with social media platforms for professional engagement and promotion.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with good attention to detail. Previous experience in delivering presentations and webinars.
Ability to work independently and act on own initiative, with excellent organisational and time-management skills. Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage a diverse group of professionals.
Passion for professional excellence and experience within the identified SIG speciality. Previous experience in a leadership or coordination role.
Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships.
