Job DescriptionPosition Title: AFL Driver - CDL A or B DriverDepartment: Residential - OperationsShift: Full Time 6:00am – 4:00pmPosition SummaryThe AFL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Basin Disposal vehicles to complete assigned routes, collect and transport materials, and provide reliable service to customers. This role requires strict adherence to safety standards, traffic regulations, and company procedures while maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment. AFL Drivers are expected to operate independently, support team members when needed, and represent Basin Disposal with professionalism and a strong commitment to customer service.Strategic Work:Make safety a priority at all timesBe courteous with all customers, both internal and externalReport any concerns with equipment, route(s) or customer(s) to a Lead or ManagerClock in at the start and end of the scheduled shiftReport to work as scheduled and wear a clean employee uniformUse appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Tactical Work/Tasks:Continuously meet driver expectations and requirements, i.e., pre/post trip, fuel and wash truck, VIR, Customer Tags, Radio usage, and secure load,Operate trucks and equipment in accordance with company procedures and standardsComply with all safety standards and requirementsReport any safety or quality concerns to supervisorMaintain all CDL driver qualifications and valid driver’s licenseMaintain an acceptable MVR – Motor vehicle RecordParticipate in on-the-job training to learn to operate other trucks and/or equipmentAssist in mapping routes and use route books to ensure consistency and timelinessFollow oral and/or written instructionsObserve legal and defensive driving practicesWork independently and perform duties without close supervisionMeet all contractual obligations for collection and disposalWork Schedule and BreaksSchedules may include holidays based on operational needs.Drivers will take 30 minutes per shift for lunchRest at appropriate times; two – 15-minute breaksWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:Typically performed in the field, which requires travel daily from site to siteThe position involves work outdoors on a year-round basis and is subject to extreme weather conditions.May be exposed to waste, including blood-borne pathogens, insects, animals and other exterior hazards.The noise level is moderate to loud.Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach with arms and hands at or above shoulders, kneel and stretch, and the ability to climb into or exit a truck and/or other equipment.Lift, push, carry and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis, and up to 90 lbs. as needed using proper lifting techniques.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to include repetitive grasping and reaching.QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience: 1–2 years of relevant driving or delivery experience preferred.Licensing/Certification: Valid driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), current DOT medical card, CDL qualifications maintained at all times.Benefits:401(k)Dental / Vision insuranceHealth insuranceRetirement planPay Range$29.03 - $32.25Trucking route:LocalExperience:Driving: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:CDL A or B DriverAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
