Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in St. Louis, MO, is hiring a driver to transport, remove, deliver, and collect various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from customer sites. You will load/unload trucks and operate vacuum/box trucks as needed.

The role requires a valid CDL-B with airbrakes and a tanker endorsement, manual transmission ability, and the stamina to lift 75+ lbs. Benefits include PTO, health coverage, HSA with match, and 401(k). Pay starts at $25/hour plus Commission.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Safe Driving & Operation: Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, roadworthiness, and proper mechanical condition; maneuver trucks safely into loading/unloading positions
  • Cargo Handling & Securement: Safely load, unload, and secure all liquid and solid hazardous waste cargo in compliance with safety standards and weight/dimension regulations
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate driver logs, manifests, bills of lading, and service records in full compliance with state, federal, DOT, and safety regulations
  • Defect & Incident Reporting: Promptly report any mechanical issues, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage to supervision
  • Customer Service & Communication: Maintain professional communication with co-workers, customers, and the public; ensure timely, courteous deliveries and proper paperwork sign-offs
  • Site & Equipment Care: Keep vehicles clean, ensure any loading/unloading debris is promptly cleared, and report delivery or customer issues to management
  • Support & Teamwork: Assist in training team members when required and perform other duties as assigned

Job description

Pay: $25/hour + Commission

This driver will transport, remove, deliver, and collect various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from various customer sites. Will be required to load and unload trucks. They will also have the ability to operate a variety of truck and equipment including vacuum trucks, box trucks, and any other equipment that fits their license on site if necessary.
