Important Information for Air Force JROTC Instructor Applicants

The Air Force JROTC instructor hiring process includes additional requirements beyond the school district’s standard application and hiring process. Applicants must first be approved by Headquarters Air Force Junior ROTC (HQ AFJROTC) before contacting the school or applying for this position.

Before Applying

• Applicants must have a current, approved instructor application on file with Air Force Junior ROTC. Prior to contacting the school, applicants should already have:
• An AFJROTC Instructor Approval Letter
• A Confirmation of Filed Application (COFA) Worksheet

Applicants who have not yet completed the Air Force JROTC instructor application and approval process should do so before beginning the school district application process.

School District Application and Interview

Once approved by AFJROTC, candidates should complete the school district’s application process for this position. Candidates selected for an interview should bring their COFA Worksheet with them. Following the interview, the school will complete the appropriate portion of the COFA Worksheet so it can be returned to Headquarters Air Force Junior ROTC.
