Job summary

Sdmha is seeking an energetic affordable housing property manager in Rapid City, SD to keep properties running smoothly and showcase them to potential residents. You will lead tours, qualify applicants, and collaborate with maintenance and vendors to deliver excellent service.

This role emphasizes relationship-building, proactive communication, and adherence to HUD/Section 8 guidelines, with opportunities to plan resident events and market properties to attract residents.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field is helpful.
• 1–2 years of equivalent experience in Property Management will suffice.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and be ready to work.
• Respond promptly to calls and emails.
• Walk the property and ensure it is clean and presentable for residents and visitors.
• Schedule tours and lease units to drive occupancy.
• Understand affordable program guidelines to qualify residents.
• Monitor HUD & Section 8 compliance in records and files.
• Coordinate move-ins and ensure units are move-in ready.
• Complete annual recertifications and inspections with SD Housing authorities.
• Communicate with maintenance to complete requests quickly.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely invoicing.
