Job Description

The Leasing Consultant is the community's sales representative responsible for interacting with residents (potential and existing) on behalf of FPI. Duties include assisting with property viewings/tours, providing accurate information about apartments, processing rental applications, securing lease agreements from qualified individuals, and assisting with lease renewals. All duties must be conducted in accordance with Fair Housing Laws and Company policies, supporting client expectations based on financial and management goals.

Driving a site-owned golf cart is required; a valid unrestricted US Driver's License is necessary.
Pay: $16 - $18 / Hour

Primary Duties
  • Client Relations: Maintain positive relationships, meet client objectives, and represent FPI professionally.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with applicants, residents, vendors, and guests.
  • Leasing & Occupancy: Maintain occupancy levels, assist with marketing, and ensure online listings are current. Promote resident retention and ensure move-in orientations are completed.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Keep resident files organized, maintain confidentiality, and assist with reporting as needed.
  • Risk Management: Ensure compliance with safety and legal standards, report incidents promptly, and react professionally in emergencies.
  • Facility Maintenance: Report and follow up on maintenance needs, monitor property conditions, and promote resident satisfaction.
  • Other Responsibilities: Enforce community rules, adhere to policies, represent FPI professionally, and complete training requirements.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD, USDA-Rural Development, HCD, HOME Funds, Bonds.
  • At least 1 year of experience in property management or related fields like hospitality or sales.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in English, computer skills including MS Office, Google Apps, property management software, email, and internet.
