Multifamily Property Management

The Leasing Consultant is the community's sales representative responsible for interacting with potential and existing residents on behalf of FPI. Duties include showing apartments, providing accurate information, processing rental applications, securing lease agreements from qualified applicants, and assisting with lease renewals. All duties must comply with Fair Housing Laws and company policies, supporting the overall goal of meeting client expectations based on financial and management agreements.

Reliable transportation is required for off-site training and job duties.

Compensation: $20 - $23 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Client Relations: Carry out owner philosophies and ensure client objectives are met.
  2. Communication: Maintain professional communication with applicants, residents, vendors, and guests.
  3. Leasing/Occupancy: Maintain occupancy levels, exhibit professional leasing techniques, assist with market surveys, advertising, resident retention, and ensure move-in orientations.
  4. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain resident files, ensure confidentiality, update reports, and ensure compliance with procedures. Report injuries or damages promptly.
  5. Facility Maintenance: Report and monitor maintenance needs, follow up on requests, and ensure resident satisfaction.
  6. Other: Enforce community rules, comply with laws and policies, maintain a professional appearance, complete training, and perform additional tasks as directed. Familiarity with affordable housing programs (e.g., LIHTC, HUD, USDA-Rural Development, HCD, HOME Funds) is required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role or related fields such as hospitality, retail, sales, or customer service.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management software, email, internet).
