Position Overview

Alora Apts is an affordable housing community comprising 187 units in San Diego, CA. The Assistant Community Manager, under the supervision of the Regional Manager, is responsible for all community operations, including general administration, maintenance, directing on-site personnel, and resource management to ensure a stabilized fiscal operation.

Solari Enterprises, Inc. is a full-service property management company with communities throughout California, specializing in all aspects of multifamily affordable housing since 1993.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Maintain accurate resident files in compliance with management procedures and funding agency regulations
  • Process applicants and lease units following Resident Selection Criteria guidelines
  • Maintain relationships with local government agencies such as HUD, TAC, etc.
  • Conduct regular follow-up inspections on maintenance work, grounds, and common areas
  • Collect rents and handle delinquent accounts

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in property management
  • Experience supervising staff members
  • Experience with Section 8 programs
  • Experience managing periodic inspections (HUD, TCAC, City inspections)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Proof of auto insurance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
  • Yardi program experience
  • Knowledge of fair housing, 504 ADA, HUD, and Section 42 regulations
  • Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) – Section 8
  • Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM) – Section 42
  • Registered Apartment Manager (RAM) Certification
  • Fair Housing Coordinator (FHC) Certification

Compensation:

  • $23.00/hr
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time
