Description

Affordable Housing Acquisition and Yardi System Specialist (Information Technology) - Only Candidates in CA, WA, AZ, NV or TX will be considered. This is a Remote Position.

What We Are Looking For :

We are seeking an Affordable Housing Acquisition and Yardi System Specialist to join our IT Team. This position operates independently to plan, coordinate, and execute all phases of the property onboarding process, including initial data collection and system setup to full operational handoff. This role supports compliance with HUD, Tax Credit, and other housing programs by reviewing tenant certifications, resolving issues, and providing technical support.

This is a full-time position with full benefits. Salary Range is $68,640 - $75,000.

Key Responsibilities :

Affordable Housing Data Entry

  • Entry of Household information for newly onboarding properties
  • Setup of Affordable Programs (HUD, Tax Credit, 50059, Local Programs, etc.) within Yardi Affordable
  • Review and verify accuracy of TICs, report issues, and provide recommendations to resolve
  • Utilize expertise in Yardi affordable property management software
  • Manage incidents and service requests using service desk software
  • Communicate effectively with all users, focusing on end-user needs, and resolve issues as appropriate
  • Manage user expectations through courteous and professional communication
  • Collaborate with other teams to improve processes and efficiency
  • Meet deadlines consistently

Onboarding

  • Design and oversee custom onboarding frameworks across the portfolio
  • Develop property-specific onboarding plans based on asset class, ownership objectives, and affordable programs in use
  • Evaluate discrepancies between management records and internal systems
  • Develop contingency plans for delayed system integrations
  • Initiate alternative data migration paths or manual workarounds when necessary, coordinating with IT and department heads
  • Create communication frameworks for stakeholders, adjusting updates based on project complexity
  • Manage multiple onboarding projects simultaneously, prioritizing based on business goals and resources
  • Navigate and resolve lease transfer complexities and occupancy issues, consulting legal/compliance teams as needed

Onboarding Metrics

  • Define success criteria for onboarding projects and revise as needed

Compliance

  • Develop and oversee compliance issue resolution plans during transitions
  • Identify potential fair housing, safety, or city code issues during audits and determine response strategies

Who You Are : (Requirements of the Position)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in compliance, auditing, or quality assurance
  • 5-7 years of property onboarding experience, preferably in affordable and multifamily housing
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with YARDI Affordable platform
  • Experience with Boston Post is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, observational, and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Discretion handling confidential information, adaptability, and high customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of affordable housing programs (HUD, LIHTC, HOME)
  • HCCP / COS certification or equivalent is a plus
  • Familiarity with Affordable Compliance workflows
  • Keyboarding speed of 40 wpm or better preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Comfort with flat files, FTPs, and task scheduling
  • Effective research and information interpretation skills
